At Dr. Kleinberg’s dermatological office, our priority is to deliver quality care to informed patients in a comfortable and convenient setting. We are a caring office serving the needs of the Forest Hills and the Manhattan Communities and dedicated to quality patient care. Over a million people have been treated with BOTOX® Cosmetic since its FDA approval in 2002. Many of our patients seek BOTOX at our New York City dermatological office. Isn’t it time you considered it too?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is the only FDA-approved treatment for the temporary reduction of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in patients 18 to 65 years of age. This ten minute procedure– a few tiny injections – can give your appearance a noticeable difference in as little as a few days. There’s no recovery or downtime, it’s possible to even receive cosmetic treatment on your lunch break with results that last up to four months. Individual results may vary.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein. It is a nonsurgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in patients 18 to 65 years of age. During treatment, very low doses of BOTOX® Cosmetic are administered via a few tiny injections directly into the muscles that cause those stubborn lines between the brows. The lines that appear between your brows actually results from muscle movement and the passage of time. Two muscles are largely responsible for frown lines between the brows. When those muscles contract, they draw the brows together. As skin becomes less elastic over time, repeated frowning can result in those moderate to severe lines between your brows. BOTOX® Cosmetic works by blocking nerve impulses, which reduces the movement of those muscles. With less movement, the skin surface gradually smoothes out, and the moderate to severe frown lines between your brows begin to fade. BOTOX® is the only treatment of its type approved by the FDA for this use. The treatment is minimally invasive and nonsurgical. It requires no recovery time and causes little discomfort.
What to Expect From Dermatological Treatment
Your Manhattan dermatologist makes a few tiny injections into the muscles that cause moderate to severe frown lines between your brows. Your doctor will determine exactly where to administer the injections to achieve the best results. No anesthesia is required, although Dr. Kleinberg may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthesia cream prior to injecting. Discomfort is minimal and brief – most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite.
Results from Botox Treatment
You can expect to see results within days after your treatment. The appearance of the area between your brows may continue to improve for up to a week. Visible results can last up to four months. After that, you may be ready to return for a follow-up treatment. The most common side effects include headache, respiratory infection, flu syndrome, temporary eyelid droop, and nausea. Other side effects include pain and redness where the medicine is injected, pain in the face, and muscle weakness. These effects generally occur within the first week and usually go away on their own. Your own results may vary – be sure to talk to Dr. Kleinberg about what you can expect.
Other Cosmetic Dermatological Options
Compared to other aesthetic treatment options, BOTOX® Cosmetic is relatively inexpensive. According to a survey by The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, it’s one of the least costly facial aesthetic procedures. And when you consider the difference it can make in the appearance of the moderate to severe frown lines between your brows, you may find BOTOX® Cosmetic to be a great way to invest in yourself.
BOTOX® Cosmetic treats the cause of these frown lines between the brows by reducing the muscle contractions that cause the lines to form over time. BOTOX® Cosmetic is the only treatment of its type approved by the FDA for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows.
